At EMC, Gordon has held a senior management role on the Export Market Access Fund project, which supports companies and associations operating in Cambodia in their export development efforts. Gordon has also helped to manage analysis on a number of value chains in Cambodia with suggested interventions to grow domestic value-addition. Gordon continues to lead the team’s analysis on the Foreign Investor Perception Survey as a component of the World Bank’s Trade Facilitation and Competitiveness Project. Prior to EMC, Gordon has had extensive experience advising businesses, non-profits and international aid organizations in East Asia, Central Asia, Africa, and the United States. He guided a social enterprise in Cambodia in expanding operations from one to three offices, while the organization tripled in revenue and employees. Gordon has also advised numerous Internet and Communication Technologies (ICT) projects in Uganda, Syria, Mali, India, Brazil and Zimbabwe. Specifically, he focused on internet center sustainable operational models as well as small business management training programs. Gordon has led the implementation of multiple disease surveillance systems throughout Asia. Gordon has previously also helped to manage multiple online start-up companies based in the United States. Specifically, he was the General Manager of Socialcash.com, a leading online advertising company in the social media space working on the Facebook and MySpace platforms. In this role, he helped manage the team to build a business serving over 1 billion online impressions per month. Gordon started his career with the leading consulting firm Bain and Company, where he developed corporate and business unit strategies for various clients across multiple industries including wireless telecommunication, energy, and healthcare. While at Bain, Gordon conducted extensive analysis including business modeling, customer segmentation, as well as implementing best practices across a network of business units. Gordon was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor in Economics, with distinction. An American, Gordon’s areas of specific interest include microfinance, internet and communication technologies, mobile banking, and the conduct of market and product assessments for income-generating activities. |
