As a Consultant within EMC Cambodia’s business consulting and private sector development business, Savin plays a key analytical and work-stream management role in EMC Cambodia’s projects. He has also been an important contact point in sourcing potential Cambodia-based investment opportunities.

Savin has extensive project experience in EMC Cambodia’s work in the agriculture and agri-business sectors, as well as in microfinance, having been exposed both to EMC’s PSD and private sector client work in these sectors. Savin was Deputy team Leader on the recent CAASP project (Canadian Cooperation Office/TGAW), which designed a US$100M program of interventions under the national Agriculture and Water Strategy. He also conducted research and analysis and shared responsibility in presenting findings and recommendations to the Board of a microfinance client.

Prior to joining EMC Cambodia, Savin was a manager with British American Tobacco, with responsibility for the oversight of risk management, internal controls, treasury operations, and tax planning and compliance. In 2001, Savin co-founded the Cambodian Rural Development Team, a local non-government organization working with the poor to improve their livelihoods whilst conserving natural resources - an organization which he continues to serve as Financial Advisor and Board Director. He was previously an analyst with SMS Cambodia, a business services firm.

Savin holds a BBA (Accounting) from the Maharishi Vedic University in Cambodia, and is currently pursuing the Certified Public Accountant designation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). Savin was selected as a recipient of the Australian government’s Endeavour Award and has recently returned from an internship with JF Capital Partners in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Cambodian national.
