Ms. Ty Sopheavy - Consultant

Sopheavy joined EMC as a Consultant in 2009, since which she has been active in developing EMC’s work for a United Nations Inter-Agency Project addressing the financial crisis and strengthening private sector livelihood alternatives to underserved populations in Cambodia.

Prior to joining EMC, Sopheavy’s extensive experiences spans communications, project management, investment consulting, commercial market research and marketing strategy.

Through her work with a travel agency, Sopheavy has gained good knowledge of Cambodia’s important tourism industry. She was also the Commercial, Press and Public Affairs Officer for the British Embassy in Phnom Penh and, in this capacity, gained considerable experience with grass root level development projects through the British Embassy’s funding program. The projects included natural resource preservation, poverty reduction, human rights and good governance, microfinance and cow bank projects among others. Sopheavy has also worked as the Alumni Coordinator with the US Embassy in Phnom Penh, for whom she promoted the alumni network and integrated alumni into the Embassy mission.

She holds an MSc (International Marketing & Business Development) from CERAM Business School in France, an MBA from the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia, and a BS in Mathematics from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She has particular interest in Private Sector Development approaches. Sopheavy is a Cambodian national.

Provincial Investment Profiles. EMC has been contracted by DAI to produce Investment Profiles for six Cambodian provinces for the USAID Cambodia MSME Project. This follows the success of profiles EMC produced in 2008 for six other provinces. The first six profiles can be accessed here.
