Prior to spearheading the establishment of EMI and the Cambodia-Laos Development Fund, Mr. Morris was responsible for all client delivery at EMC. In addition to overseeing the firm’s consulting team, he was actively involved in managing strategic client relationships and projects. During this period, the firm billed revenues in excess of $1.5M and grew staff to 15 professionals.   In his project-based role at EMC, Mr. Morris provided strategic inputs to the Board and management teams of the firm’s private sector clients across most key regional sectors, including financial services, light manufacturing, construction, handicrafts/furniture, consumer products, and mining, among others. Mr. Morris’s private sector development work in the region – covering Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia and Vietnam – has focused on building sustainable economic growth through involvement at all levels of PSD activity, including: firm-level business advisory support, planning and execution; industry-wide support program development and; macro investment climate reform – particularly in the areas of trade facilitation reform strategy and investment promotion.  Most recently, Mr. Morris led EMC’s role as the Management Team for the Ministry of Commerce Export Market Access Fund. Prior to launching EMC Cambodia, Joshua was Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development for Convey Software, a enterprise software company focusing on the translation and localization needs of international companies. In this role, Mr. Morris was a member of the executive team that raised US$18 million in venture funding. Before joining Convey Software, Mr. Morris managed multi-million dollar partnership agreements in his business development role at PlanetRx.com. Joshua holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA cum laude from Harvard University. Based in Cambodia for the last 7 years, he is an American national. |
